About the Business

Pinantan Lake Resort is a family-friendly destination situated on the peaceful, serene Pinanatan Lake - just 20 minutes North-East of Kamloops, BC. The resort provides lakefront cabin accommodations and a lake view RV park with outdoor activities for all ages including; swimming, fishing, biking, quadding, nature viewing, and winter sports!

Goals

When new owners took over the resort in the spring of 2022, they wanted to freshen things up with new branding and a modern website. We started with a new brand direction complete with a comprehensive brand guide, logo suite, colour palette, fonts, usage recommendations, and more. From there we developed their website into an online space to showcase the resort offerings, display information in an easily digestible way, and provide convenient access to availability and booking. To streamline booking management and make availability and booking easily accessible for guests we integrated a third-party booking software within their customized Squarespace website.

With new brand designs, a modern online presence, and an efficient booking system, the new owners can focus more on tending to guest needs and enjoying their beautiful new property.

Project Details

BRANDING

The goal of the branding was to represent the resort as so much more than just a remote fishing resort while bringing in natural elements from the local surroundings.

We created a simple monogram logo of the ‘PLR’ initials and included the loon graphic (the loon call is something you’ll hear every dusk and dawn if you’re lucky to stay here). The badge style primary logo includes the iconic Rock Face Mountain which looms over the community, as well as the consistently calm lake water surrounded by grass and reeds, accompanied by a little rustic cabin graphic below — much like the cabins you’ll find at the resort.

Both the loon and cabin graphics work well as branded elements throughout digital presence and other marketing mediums.

For more basic usage, the Pinantan Lake Resort name was developed into complementary text logos in two versions - with a frame and background and without, in all brand colours.

We completed this brand project with a detailed Brand Guidelines document for the client to reference as needed. The document is intended to set the framework for the business’s new brand direction and houses all logos and graphics, colour palette, font selection, usage recommendations, as well as a file organization template.

The aim of this project was to design an engaging online platform that effectively communicates the offerings of Pinanatan Lake Resort. This involves showcasing its diverse options and amenities against the backdrop of stunning imagery capturing the essence of the scenic locale.

Integrating the resort's distinctive brand colours and fonts, animated graphics were thoughtfully incorporated to enhance brand identity. The design was carefully curated to authentically reflect the resort's unique atmosphere.

For a seamless user experience, the website features third-party booking integration. This allows visitors to easily make online reservations and enables the resort owners to efficiently manage bookings. The end result is a visually appealing and functional website that mirrors the essence of Pinanatan Lake Resort.

To make booking convenient and efficient for both the guest and booking manager, we installed a third-party booking software that integrates seamlessly with their new Squarespace website.

Property map

Perhaps the most fun aspect of this project was the hand-drawn property map. We wanted to create something to be accessed through the website (viewed and/or downloaded) that is both fun and functional for the guest. The map clearly shows all amenities, main entrance, office, cabin and RV lot numbers, on and off-limit areas, beach access, plus a few fun extras ;).
