Grocer
& Grub
Project SUMMARY:
After purchasing The Sweet Spot, Paige, owner of Sage & Plate, a well known catering company in Kamloops, set out to transform the business into a broader, community focused grocery concept. The existing brand no longer reflected the direction she envisioned.
Paige partnered with Badlands to develop a complete brand strategy and visual identity for Grocer & Grub, positioning it as a modern neighbourhood grocery and prepared foods shop rooted in Kamloops.
About the Business
Grocer & Grub is a specialty grocery and prepared foods shop serving Kamloops. With a focus on thoughtfully sourced products and local connection, the brand needed to feel approachable, modern, and distinctly community driven.
The shift from The Sweet Spot required clear and confident repositioning to support a more dynamic grocery concept.
Goals
Grocer & Grub needed an identity that would:
Differentiate from the previous brand
Reflect expanded grocery offerings
Build recognition within Kamloops
Feel welcoming, friendly, and professional
Create cohesion across in store and digital experiences
Solution & OUtcome
Badlands developed a bold, character driven identity centered around Gene, a laid back brand mark that brings personality and warmth to Grocer & Grub.
A versatile logo suite, strategic colour palette, and flexible graphic system ensured consistency across signage, labels, and social media. Packaging mockups demonstrated how the identity translates into real world applications.
The result is a cohesive and recognizable identity that confidently signals a new era for the business and positions Grocer & Grub for continued growth within the Kamloops community.
